The end of college comp II

Here we are at our last blog!  I feel this term went rather quickly even though we had an extra week in there with winter.  I am defiantely ready for a break and need to clear my head.  I am just burned out on all of the schooling stuff.  I just couldn't get my head into this term at all.  It took me forever to finish my term paper for this course and that was simply because I did not wanna do it.  I don't know if was the topic I had chose for my paper or what but no matter what I tried I could not get enthused this term.  My other class this term did not help matter at all.  It seemed no matter how hard I tried the professor would give me a crappy grade.  Then on top of that, I had to spend 130.00 on microsoft publisher to do the final project for that course.  I will never have any use for that program again but I knew I had to do my best on this project.  I bought the software and did a tri fold brochure and the professor gave me a horrible grade!!  I was highly p*ssed!  It is stuff like that that makes me wanna throw the towel in!  Anyway, this blogging thing really lets a person vent!!  Thanks for reading my blog and letting me vent.   It really does help!  I wish all my classmates luck in the endeavor of their educations and may all your test be graded with A's and all your term paper unstressful!  ~Danielle~

Final paper

Well here we are at unit 9 and at the end of our courses.  I still have some work to do on my paper but let me tell you I am glad we are almost done.  I am so sick of writing, citing, writing references and all the other things associated with term papers!!!!  I also become annoyed with all the changes with APA formatting.  It is confusing enough without them throwing in more rules and changes!  So right now I feel a little scared and just plain tired of writing altogether.  I do not mean to be a downer but getting this all out made me feel a little better.  I wish all of my classmates huge success with their papers and may all of you get a great grade!

Continuing blogging after course ends

Hi everyone!  Hope this finds everyone well and warm.  One of the questions under the blog option was if anyone was going to keep blogging after the course ends.  I would have to say probably not.  I say this because with all the things I have going, I don't see me having the time to blog anything.  I do have to say it has helped me vent some of my feelings that I have held in.  Just to write anything that is on my mind without no repercussions is exillerating.  This course was my first blogging experience and never really understood the point to it but I now understand that it can be a place to blow off some steam.  It is a stress reliever so possibly if I need to vent or get an outside opinion, I might blog oncen in a while.

Things I learned writing my rough draft

Oh  how I did not want to write my first draft for unit 6.  I chose genetically modified foods as my topic and actually did a great job of procrastinating on researching the topic.  I have gotten burned out on writing and was not in any way motivated.  However, when i sat down and actually read on my topic, I found numerous articles that were chocked full of great information.  I printed out my research to start writing and again I sighed in dislike of having to write more.  I began writing my paper and surprisingly it flowed quite nicely.  I was pleasantly surprised!  Now, I am not saying I wrote a perfect paper but I did write it and it was not as bad as I had anticipated. I am looking forward to getting the final paper turned in so the pressure is off of me and I am praying I get a good grade!  Good luck classmates on your papers and I hope you receive an awesome grade on it!

I dislike winter!

Hi all!   Here I sit in Iowa wondering why I choose to live here when i dislike winters alot!  Last night we had another snow storm that blessed us with another 5 inches of snow!!!!  Another thing about winter in Iowa that i dislike is having to bundle up with coats, hats and gloves just to go out to the car.  Cabin fever is absolutely no fun at all and leads me to become lazy and unproductive.  I have lived in Iowa for many years, as I grew up here and only moved away for a couple of years at a time.  I was born in California and moved to Iowa when i was  4 years old.  You would think i would either  begin to deal with winters or move to a warmer climate, I have done neither!   LOL.  Well, until next time bloggers!  Danielle

Midterm blues!

Hi everyone!  Well here I sit attempting to juggle motherhood and school as I am sure many of you are also.  I miss the carefree days of youth where the worse you had to worry about is if your best friend will be able to come out and play.  LOL.  I am into my fourth term at Kaplan and I have to be honest, I am losing momentum and a little interest.  It just seem to keep piling on me and bogging me down.  I need a good dose of a swift kick in the butt to get me reved up again.  I want my girls to be proud of me and show my doubters that I can do this but I have lost my motivation.  Any suggestions?

Happy Holidays!

Hi classmates and professor!!  Christmas is just right around the corner and I have not even started wrapping yet!!!  Yikes!   Any volunteers?   LOL!  My boyfriend has given me a great early Christmas gift!  He is an eight month old lab/bassett hound mix puppy that we saved from our local shelter.  He is incredibly cute and is pretty much a calm dog.   As you can tell we are animal lovers and this is proof.  We have 2 kittens we saved from the shelter this summer, a yorkie mix, the new puppy, two ferrets, and a pet skunk!!  Yes a pet skunk and her name is skittles.  She is adorable and yes she has been desented.  Also we have 4 children (all girls) aged 17, 17, 10, and 6.  They are our lives!!  Well enough about me!  I wish all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and  a  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
